5 Common Sense Tips for Creating the Best Online Survey
Online Surveys are becoming the norm for market researchers as a way to efficiently collect feedback. For example, Travel and Tourism organizations build online surveys to get to know their customer needs or desires. Questions such as “how did we perform today?” or “are you interested in receiving travel deals?” are vital to organizational success.
Overall, surveys bring us a lot of benefits, but how can one create the best Online Survey to reap the best feedback? With decades of research experience, I would say that these are my top 5 common sense tips for creating the best Online Survey:
Define your Objectives
Determine what kind of online survey you want to create, which target population you want to study and the kind of results you want to achieve. For example, are you searching from Quantitative or Qualitative data? Be sure.
Add a Consent Form
Ensure that you have a consent form with privacy detail’s so respondents understand the purpose of the research.
Check for Bias
Make sure you are not asking leading or double-barreled questions as that can confuse your respondents.
Pilot Test your Survey
Let your family, friends or colleagues complete the survey. Check for writing or other simple mistake as it can happen.
Short and Simple
Even though this is the last suggestion, it is important that you keep the online survey short and simple. Understanding that your target population is super busy is important!
