Respondents’ Privacy Policy

You may have received a request to respond to a survey that was created and published by a subscriber (the “Researcher”) using Jitsu Technologies Inc.’s (“Jitsutech”) survey creation service (the “Service”). Your response to the survey is stored on Canadian Servers and may include information that identifies you as an individual (your “Personal Information”). This policy sets out how Jitsutech collects, uses and discloses your Personal Information.

  1. Consent

    Your survey response, including any Personal Information that you provide, is collected, used and disclosed for the purpose of providing survey results to the Researcher. By clicking Continue and answering the survey questions, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information for this purpose and in accordance with this policy. If you do not consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information for this purpose or in accordance with this policy, do not respond to or respond to then submit the survey.

  2. Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

    When you respond to a survey, any Personal Information that you provide is collected for the Researcher. Your responses will be used to create a report of aggregate results that will be disclosed to the Researcher and members of his or her team (together, the “Research Team”). Your responses, including any Personal Information contained therein, may also be disclosed to the Research Team in un-aggregated form. In particular, any Personal Information provided in free-form text answers in response to open-ended questions will be disclosed to the Research Team in un-aggregated form. Any Personal Information contained in your responses may be transferred to third parties for the purposes of the Service. These third parties may be located in other provinces in Canada. Personal Information may also be disclosed to law enforcement agencies or to other parties, if required by law.

    Jitsutech does not use "Cookies". A cookie is a small file stored on your computer by your web browser when using some internet sites. Cookies can also store non-Personal information. Jitsutech does not link non-Personal information from Cookies to your Personal Information. Please review the privacy policy of other sites you visit or link to from our Web Site to understand how these other sites use Cookies and how they use the information they collect through the use of Cookies.

  3. Access to Your Personal Information

    You may access any Personal Information of yours that is under Jitsutech’s control by submitting a written request to Jitsutech’s Privacy Officer. With certain exceptions, within 30 days of receiving your written request, Jitsutech will provide:

    • a summary of your Personal Information that is under Jitsutech’s control, if any;
    • the ways in which your Personal Information has been used by Jitsutech; and
    • the names of the Researcher and any other individuals or organizations to whom Jitsutech has disclosed your Personal Information.

    You may address any concerns about any of your Personal Information under Jitsutech’s control by submitting a written request to Jitsutech’s Privacy Officer detailing such concerns.

  4. Withdrawal of Consent

    You may withdraw your consent to Jitsutech’s use and disclosure of your Personal Information by making a written statement to Jitsutech’s Privacy Officer. Upon receiving such written statement, within a reasonable amount of time, Jitsutech will make reasonable efforts to delete or render anonymous your Personal Information that is under its control.

  5. No Control over Other Users’ Compliance with Privacy Laws

    The access provisions in section 3 and the withdrawal of consent provisions in section 4 of this policy apply only to Personal Information that is under Jitsutech’s control. Jitsutech is not responsible for any Personal Information that is not under its control, including any Personal Information that has been disclosed to the Research Team in either aggregated or un-aggregated form. If you want to access, correct, or withdraw your consent to the use and disclosure of any Personal Information that is under the Researcher’s or the Research Team’s control, you must contact the Researcher.

  6. Removal from Survey Recipient Groups

    Jitsutech’s Terms of Use require that the Researcher has consent from you to include your name and email address in the Researcher’s Recipient Groups. If you have not provided your consent, or if you wish to remove your email address from Jitsutech Recipient Groups, please follow the instructions for doing so provided by the Researcher or the Researcher's representative or by Jitsutech.

Users’ Privacy Policy

Jitsu Technologies Inc. (“Jitsutech”) provides and maintains an online survey hosting service (the “Service”) which allows a subscriber to the service (a “Researcher”) and members of his or her team (the “Team Members”) to create surveys, transmit surveys to individuals and to generate reports from the data obtained from such surveys. In order to provide and maintain the Service, Jitsutech may collect, use and disclose information that identifies you as an individual (your “Personal Information”). This policy sets out how Jitsutech collects, uses and discloses the Personal Information pertaining to Researchers and Team Members, each of whom are a “User”. If you are a Researcher or Team Member, as defined in this policy and in the Terms of Use, this policy applies to you and your Personal Information.

  1. Consent

    When you register for an account, create a username and password and/or use the Service, you may be providing to Jitsutech your Personal Information. By registering for an account, creating a username and password, accepting the Terms of Use and/or using the Service, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information by Jitsutech in accordance with this policy, and you represent and warrant that you have obtained consent from any other person whose Personal Information you may provide to Jitsutech. If you do not consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information, or do not have consent to collect, use and disclose Personal Information of others, in accordance with this policy, do not register for an account, create a username and password, accept the Terms of Use or use the Service.

  2. Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

    Any Personal Information regarding Researchers or Team Members that is provided to Jitsutech may be used for the purposes of providing, maintaining and developing the Service, processing payment for subscription to the Service, providing reports, and other purposes reasonably connected to these.

    Jitsutech may use Personal Information regarding Researchers or Team Members to contact Researchers or Team Members from time to time regarding the Service, but will not provide such Personal Information to third parties for marketing or spamming purposes.

    Personal Information may be transferred to third parties for the purpose(s) of hosting the surveys; data storage; providing technical support; troubleshooting, management or maintenance of the Service, or other purposes reasonably connected to these. These third parties may be located in other provinces in Canada. Personal Information may also be disclosed to law enforcement agencies or to other parties, if required by law.

Jitsutech is not responsible for any Personal Information that is not under its control, including any Personal Information that has been disclosed to other Users that have access to an account. If you want to access, correct, or withdraw your consent to the use and disclosure of any Personal Information that is under the control of another User, you must contact the User directly.

  6. Team Member’s Consent and Withdrawal of Consent

    Jitsutech’s Terms of Use require that the Researcher has consent from each Team Member to include the Team Member’s name and email address in an account’s Lab Member Accounts section. If you are a Team Member and either have not provided your consent or wish to withdraw your consent to the inclusion of your name and email address in an account’s Lab Member Accounts section, please contact the Researcher. If the Researcher does not respond to your request by removing your name from the Lab Member Accounts section, please contact Jitsutech’s Privacy Officer.
